Sanosaka is located on the southern border of Hakuba Village, and while being a smaller resort, it is well known for the great views over Lake Aokiko, one of the most scenic lakes in Japan. In fact one can forget they are in Japan as the scene is reminiscent of the Swiss or Austrian Alps.
Not much terrain for advanced level skiers, there are still plenty of great runs for beginners and intermediates.
Mogul riders will have a lot of fun here as in addition to the natural formations, there is also one of the best competitive moguls courses in Japan set up on this mountain (700m long).
There are other attractions here including snow rafting, and it is one of the few resorts where you can bring your pets and have them on the slopes with you.
