Locate towards the north of Hakuba Valley, Hakuba Norikura Onsen Ski Resort (Haku-nori for short) is well worth the trek from central Hakuba. It consistently has some of the highest snowfalls in the valley, and can be a welcome relief from the crowds next door at Hakuba Cortina ski resort.
This resort is 100% natural snow, with no snow making facilities, which make it more weather dependent, but then again offers more authenticity. While most runs are grooms, the Sky View slopes in the Satomi area are left to nature, and the steepness of the slope makes for fantastic fun on a powder day.
Very much a family oriented resort, there is plenty for the kids to do also.
Owned and operated by the Hakuba Alps Hotel, this can be a great resort for those looking at Ski In / Ski Out accommodation away from the main hubs of Happo and Echoland. It is also one of the few hotels in the area with both a hot spring spa, and an all season swimming pool.
As it is connected to Cortina Resort, there is a combine Lift pass available, but it is better value to get a Hakuba Valley Lift Pass as the transport out to Hakuba Norikura becomes free of charge also.
