When is the best time to visit Hakuba?
Hakuba is a year round travel destination. For people coming to Ski / Snowboard, then January to March are the safest months for snow coverage.
Summer is also very pleasant in Hakuba so July to September are also excellent months to visit.
How do I get around Hakuba?
Hakuba is quite a large area, and while many come for the mountains, much of the village area is quite flat. In the summer months, bicycle is a great way to explore the Hakuba Valley, and bringing a pair of running shoes is also good idea to really take in the various natural attractions Hakuba has to offer.
In winter where most people want to get to the slopes ASAP, then using the shuttle bus system is generally the best option. And for those with experience driving in the snow, getting a rental car can give you a lot more freedom.
